After breakfast at your hotel, kick back and enjoy a day at leisure at your oceanside hotel. You can cool off in the hotel pool or in the nearby ocean – the choice is yours. Your hotel will also provide you with both lunch and dinner today, so this really is a day when you can take it easy. This morning, savor breakfast at your hotel before joining our local guide for a tour of captivating Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Many cultures have left their mark on Zanzibar, and Stone Town exemplifies this rich history. Your first stop will be the colorful market, filled with exotic scents and bustling with locals bartering.
Next, explore the 19th-century cathedral, built on the site of the slave market abolished in 1873. As you traverse narrow streets, you’ll see Arab residences with hidden inner courtyards and Indian houses adorned with metal railings. Historic sites include the ‘Tip Tip House,’ the Old Fort, and the People’s Palace Museum. Enjoy lunch at the Silk Route Indian rooftop restaurant, which offers a panoramic ocean view.
Indulge in exceptional cuisine, perhaps accompanied by a cocktail. After lunch, we will ensure your secure return to the airport for your flight. Breakfast is served at your beach hotel, and lunch is at the Silk Route Indian restaurant in Stone Town. (Please note that the Silk Route is accessed via an extensive staircase.)
